Electone Disk Database (ELDATA.org)

We have an EL 700 and have accumulated many registrations on Floppy disks. Some of them had been saved as .img file in computer using HD Copy. We have just got a DDK7 and will be selling the EL700.

Can anyone teach me how to convert the floppy registrations so that they can be stored in USB drives and played on the DDK7?

Yep, it can be converted to ELS registration. But you have to do it in the MDR that is built up in the DDK/ELS. So you better buy external flopy disk drive first so you can use your EL registration disk, then insert your disk, and from MDR menu you can find the option of convert from EL to ELS.

yes but apart from using a portable floppy drive, I read somewhere in the eldata that one can rootrip the floppy and then copy the ripped files to usb drive and then play on the stagea or ddk7.

I tried but the stagea came out with an error that the usb drive is not formatted. I formatted the usb drive on the stagea and have now recopied the ripped files. Will have to test it out this week end in yamaha school to see if it works

floppy disks are very sensitive and quite a fair number of my childrens' floppies cannot work. I am now trying out to find out which works and which doesn't & hopefully I could get the data from this forum later

I retried and this time delete all other files in the usb thumb drive & copy via the computer the ripped files (boo, evt files)

After a few tries, it finally worked!!!!!!!!!

Hurray - it worked on the DDK7 and also the Stagea

Now the working floppies can be ripped, saved onto computer hard disk and also copied into usb thumb drive for use in stagea & DDK7
